History

The Jonesborough Storytellers Guild has celebrated over 30 years of sharing live storytelling in downtown Jonesborough on Tuesday night.

Our Guild is the longest running Storytelling Guild in the United States as well the only Guild in the Nation that offers a weekly public performance venue. Prior to the creation of our guild, the only live Storytelling was once a year at the National Storytelling Festival.

There were seven creative founding members in June 1994:
     David Joe Miller
     G Lee Hearl
     Carole Ann Huebner
     Jack Huebner
     Leon Overbay
     Bob Phillips
     Linda Poland

These founding members saw the need and made a commitment to bring live Storytelling to our town. Since then our guild has grown and been faithful to their cause bringing first class entertainment to the pub
lic  each Tuesday Night.   Come celebrate with us with Stories n' More!
